How Can I Be Saved? What Does that Mean?
I grew up in a church that didn’t use terms like saved or born again, but I believed in Jesus and accepted His death on the cross as payment for my sins. So, I was saved and born again even though I didn’t use those terms. Salvation or being saved means that Jesus saves us from death and eternal suffering. But, we also get born again, spiritually, when we accept Jesus as our Savior. When we are born physically, we are born in the flesh, but when we get born again, we are born in the Spirit of God and become spiritually alive forever! (John 3:3-8)
How Can I Be Saved? Believe in Jesus
To be saved, all you have to do is BELIEVE in Jesus and RECEIVE His FREE gift of salvation so you can have eternal life instead of eternal suffering (John 3:16). Being a good person is not enough. You cannot earn salvation by your good works. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Actually, it’s good news that we don’t have to work for our salvation, because how would you know if you’ve done enough good deeds? If you accept Jesus’ death on the cross as payment for your sins, you are saved and born again!
Prayer of Salvation
Speak to God from your heart or use this Victory Prayer to ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.
Father God, I know that I’ve sinned and I’m supposed to get the death penalty
as punishment for my sins (Romans 6:23).
Thank You for loving me so much that You already sent Jesus to the cross to die in my place and save me from the punishment of death for my sins.
Thank You Jesus for shedding Your innocent blood,
so I can be forgiven for my sins and saved from eternal suffering.
Instead, you gave me eternal life and a relationship with Daddy God (Ephesians 1:7).
Jesus, I know You died, but You rose from the dead and now You are alive in Heaven (Luke 24:6). Because You are alive, You can send Your Holy Spirit to live in me (1Corinthians 15:22-23).
I hear You knocking on the door of my heart (Revelation 3:20),
so please come in, save me and be my Lord and Savior!
