There are three sets of 7 judgments in the book of Revelation. The intensity of the judgments increase with each set. Below is a simple summary of the 7 Seals and the 7 Trumpets and the 7 Bowls judgments in Revelation.

7 Seals Judgments

1. White Horse-Bow-War
2. Red Horse-Sword-Death
3. Black Horse-Scales-High Prices, Food Scarcity, Famine
4. Pale Green Horse-Death and Hell-25% Killed
5. Martyred Souls Cry for Justice
6. Disasters-Moon, Stars, Sky, Mountains, Islands
7. Silence for half an hour

1. White Horse-Bow-War

• Revelation 6:1-2 – A white horse whose rider held a bow in his hands was given a crown and was waging war and conquering.  Compare to Jesus, the true Christ, in Rev 19:11.

2. Red Horse-Sword-Death

• Revelation 6:3-4 – A red horse whose rider had a great sword was taking peace so people will kill each other.

3. Black Horse-Scales-High Prices, Food Scarcity, Famine

• Revelation 6:5-6 – A black horse whose rider had a pair of scales saying, “a quart of wheat/3 quarts of barley for a day’s wages, but don’t harm the oil and wine (oil represents Holy Spirit/wine represents Blood of Jesus).

4. Pale Green Horse-Death and Hell-25% Killed

• Revelation 6:7-8 – A pale green horse whose rider was named Death had Hell following him and they were given the authority to kill 1/4 of earth with sword, famine, disease and wild beasts.

5. Martyred Souls Cry for Justice

• Revelation 6:9-11 – The souls of those killed for the word of God cry out for vengeance.  They are given white robes and told to wait for their brothers and sisters in Christ to be killed.

6. Disasters-Moon, Stars, Sky, Mountains, Islands

• Revelation 6:12-14 – There is a great earthquake, the sun turns black, the full moon turns red like blood, stars fall, the sky rolls up like a scroll, and every mountain and island moves. Everyone hid in caves and begged for rocks to fall on them and hide them from the face of Him on the throne and the wrath of the Lamb.

7. Silence for Half an Hour

• Revelation 8:1 – Before the 7th Seal is opened, 144,000 are marked by God on their foreheads (12000 from 12 tribes of Israel).  At God’s throne were people from every nation, tribe, people and language wearing white robes that have been “washed in the blood of the Lamb (Jesus)”.  They are in Heaven worshiping Jesus and will not suffer anymore.  Finally, the 7th Seal was opened and there was silence for about half an hour.

7 Trumpets Judgments

1. 33.3% Land Destroyed
2. 33.3% Sea/Ocean Destroyed
3. 33.3% Fresh water Destroyed
4. 33.3% Heavens Destroyed
5. WOE 1-People Tortured 5 Months
6. WOE 2-33.3% People Killed
7. WOE 3-Kingdom of God and Jesus

1. 33.3% Land Destroyed

• Revelation 8:7 – 33.3% of the land (trees/grass/vegetation) was burned by hail and fire mixed with blood thrown at the earth.

2. 33.3% Sea/Ocean Destroyed

• Revelation 8:8-9 – 33.3% of the sea was hit by a fiery mountain and turned to blood killing 1/3 of the sea creatures & ships.

3. 33.3% Fresh water Destroyed

• Revelation 8:10-11 – 33.3% of the fresh water was turned bitter by a fiery star called Wormwood.

4. 33.3% Heavens Destroyed

• Revelation 8:12 – 33.3% Heavens (sun, moon & stars) were darkened so that no light shined 1/3 of the day and 1/3 of the night.

5. WOE 1-People Tortured 5 Months

• Revelation 8:13-9:1-12 – A star falls from Heaven which is the angel of the pit of Hell (abyss).  The sun & air are darkened by smoke from the abyss.  Those not sealed by God endure 5 months of torture by locusts that sting like scorpions. 

6. WOE 2-33.3% People Killed

• Revelation 9:13-11:14 – 33.3% of people are killed by a 200-million-man army riding horses breathing fire, smoke & sulfur.  The army was led by 4 evil angels who were released at the Euphrates River.  Those who were not killed still would not repent and receive Jesus.  While 2 Godly Witnesses prophesy for 3.5 years, the Holy City is being trampled by the Gentiles (ungodly). At then end of the 3.5 years, the beast kills the 2 witnesses, but they are raised from the dead and called to Heaven.  Rev 13:5-7 says the beast has power for 3.5 years to wage war against God’s holy people and the false prophet deceives people into worshiping the image of the beast and taking the mark (666).  Note the contrast between the 2 Godly witnesses and the 2 evil witnesses.  Also note the perfect Holy Trinity of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit (777) vs the evil trinity of Satan, the beast and the false prophet (666). 6 is the number of man and 7 is the number of God. The 6th Trumpet/WOE 2 ends after the 2 Godly witnesses go to Heaven and a great earthquake in the Holy City kills 7000 people.

7. WOE 3-Kingdom of God and Jesus

• Revelation 11:15-11:19 – The world becomes the Kingdom of God and Jesus which means this evil world and all evil people are destroyed.  The Temple is opened and the Ark of the Covenant is revealed.  There is lightning, thunder and a terrible hailstorm. This is the beginning of the final judgments of the 7 Bowls.

1. Earth and People

• Revelation 16:2 – The 1st bowl was poured on the earth and horrible sores broke out on everyone who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue.

2. Sea Destroyed

• Revelation 16:3 – The 2nd bowl was poured on the sea was struck and it became like blood and everything in the sea died.

3. Fresh Water Destroyed

• Revelation 16:4-7 – The 3rd bowl was poured on the rivers and springs and they became blood.

4. Sun Burns People

• Revelation 16:8-9 – The 4th bowl was poured on the sun causing it to burn all men with its fire.

5. Throne of Beast

• Revelation 16:10-11 – The 5th bowl was poured on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom was plunged into darkness. People chewed their tongues in anguish and cursed the God of heaven for their pain and sores, but they did not repent.

6. Euphrates River Dries Up for Battle of Armageddon

• Revelation 16:12-16 – The 6th bowl was poured on the great Euphrates River, and it dried up so that the kings from the east could march their armies toward the west.  The demonic spirits gathered all the rulers and their armies to a place with the Hebrew name Armageddon—the Mountain of Megiddo.

7. Thunder, Lightning, Earthquake,Hailstones-IT IS FINISHED!!!!!!!

• Revelation 16:17-21 – The 7th bowl was poured on the air and a mighty shout came from God’s throne in the Temple, saying, “It is finished!”  Thunder, lightning, 70lb hailstones and the worst earthquake in history causes “Babylon” (evil world) to split and islands and mountains to disappear.
